Pigs Fly
8. February 2008 by Orioles Fanatic.
I do have one more thought. Sherrill. Jones. Yada, yada, yada. Sure. I believe they’re worth it. And I believe that one day a sounder of pigs will fly out of my butt.
I hope to hear “I told you so” more than I have to say it.

Bedard Ruins ES’s Friday
8. February 2008 by Orioles Fanatic.
Crap. That’s all I have to say about that. I knew it was coming, but still, it hurts. I’m going to go frown and sulk for a while now. ![]()

Jones Hip Condition
29. January 2008 by Orioles Fanatic.
I want to congratulate whichever one of you came up with the “degenerative hip condition” rumor. Nice work and very imaginative!
I’m sure you’re very conscientious, but this is just a friendly reminder to make sure the rumor lands on both McPhail and Angelos’s desk.
Keep up the great work! I’m very proud of you.

Roch’s Blog

Deep thoughts by Enchanting Sunshine.
Os fans spar on blog.
We fight over Bedard trade.
Evil divides us.
We need each other.
We should bond together now.
Hard times are ahead.
I’ll get over this. I swear I will.

What if…
28. January 2008 by Orioles Fanatic.
Thanks to my friend, the brilliant Jeff, who suggested that there is still hope. Jones could fail the physical. I don’t live in Baltimore anymore, so there’s nothing I can do about it. I’ll leave that up to those of you in Maryland to think of an idea.
Think Tonya Harding. Remember, Jones has two knees. That’s all I’m going to say.

Bye Bedard
28. January 2008 by Orioles Fanatic.
Oh, what the hell. I’m just going to go ahead and repost it. Looks like Bedard is leaving. It’s not like Jones would have chosen the Orioles would he? I mean, he wouldn’t be flying himself to Baltimore trying to get into the Orioles organization. What player would do that? He’s obviously being forced.
Here’s a comment from Roch’s blog that says it all:
I love this quote from Sherrill (who maybe part of the package coming back from Seattle)
Sherrill, one of the Mariners’ top relievers last season when he posted a 2-0 record and 2.36 ERA in 73 appearances, said Sunday night from his Salt Lake City home that he’s not aware of any deal that includes him.
“I have not heard a thing,” he said, “but am preparing myself for the worst.”

Right, so, Bedard is gone. I’m officially depressed and thus far hating 2008. Here are my haikus from yesterday, one of my few “healthy” coping mechanisms. Please indulge me while I vent.
Trade our only ace.
Let’s set more records, shall we?
Lose 40-3.
Last season was bad.
Really bad. But this season…
Will be so much worse.
Bye Bye our Bedard.
Hope you enjoy Seattle.
Please show us mercy.
Why do you hurt me?
Your loyal fan many years.
Sadistic bastards.
Strikes? What do you mean?
No Oriole pitches those
Strikes left with Bedard.
I don’t understand.
What is this “win” you speak of?
The Os only lose.
Bedard, you traitor.
I don’t blame you, but I do.
You abandoned us.
Os create new rules.
There is crying in baseball,
when we watch you pitch.
Prepare yourself for 2008. It’s shaping up to be worse than 2007, if that’s possible. There certainly are a lot of people excited about trading Bedard, so I hope they have insight that I lack and I’m proven wrong. I will certainly not enjoy watching another team enjoy the fruits of Bedard, when I should be watching him in an Oriole uniform.
Again, apologies to those of you sick of Orioles posts. I’m sick of the Orioles, so we’re even.
